Besides Enchiladas... (plus update)

I've had a lot on my plate lately, besides enchiladas.

This blog is as mellow as myself at the moment...

I'm renting out my apartment for a year, to give me a chance to save up some money, de-stress and focus 100% on relaxation and my business and my personal relationships. It's kind of bittersweet because it means I won't have my own place anymore. :/

Lately I've been trying to promote myself more on etsy than Blackmarket (Danish site for people who are alternative), branch out and get new customers.

also I've added my awesome vintage finds to my collection, so check it out! :)

It's been pretty awesome, I was featured in a blog called "etsy artists":

ALSO I FINALLY got myself a TULBR!

Check that out for updates, funny pictures and general brain tid-bits:

Anyways, Just a brief update, as I have been slightly crappy at keeping up. :)

First Of Many Ramblings...

Alrighty, where to start?

Let's start at the very beginning, 'cause I've heard it's a very good place to start..

Well... Maybe not the VERY beginning, my life's story will unravel itself bit by bit, but I can start by introducing myself:

I'm Mimi. Really I'm Madeleine, but every since I saw "La Boheme" at age 2, I've been Mimi, and yes, it's the same Mimi in rent (minus the lifestyle), seeing as Rent is the modern version of La Boheme.

I'm a jewelry designer, with my own company "Glitz Couture", one of a kind wearable art!
Before that I studied art, and went to a really good art school in Denmark, working mostly in installation, Sculpture, preformance art (very whimsical, weird and trippy I might add..) where I mostly loafed around, got praised for being awesome, drank coffee and smoked ciggy's (like a true artist, ofc).

Here's a little of the art I've done:

After that, I felt kind of empty, what was a lone Hawaiian artist to do in this world?
That's when it hit me: I had ALWAYS loved to make pieces that were wearable, and samplings that were very tangible.
I started looking at jewelry and thinking "HEY. I could make that." And with my artistic perspective, I COULD. And I DID.

So from humble artist-beginnings to selling at least 2 pieces of jewelry a DAY in Denmark, and a small network on etsy in just a year! Also my things have been in two magazines in Denmark, TV (a galla for "the young mothers" - tv show in denmark) and on the net on some blogs. NOT TO SHABS!

I'm trying not to make this blog TOO long, so I'll just post what I made that kind of is the ambassador of my usual work, and what I made today, and continue rambling later tomorrow. ;)

The ambassadors:

A piece called "painting the roses red" - inspired by Alice in wonderland:

A bit O' Owl:

More owl / Victorian:

And som Whimsical Sailormoon vs. trippy-mac-acid-trip:

And what I made today, watching the real housewives, and chillin' in the country...
